America is #1 ... in being a Police State

The U.S. Police State

According to the Bureau of Justice http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/prisons.htm

“On June 30, 2006--
-- 2,245,189 prisoners were held in Federal or State prisons or in local jails -- an increase of 2.8% from midyear 2005, less than the average annual growth of 3.4% since yearend 1995.
-- there were an estimated 497 prison inmates per 100,000 U.S. residents -- up from 411 at yearend 1995. “

While we are at it lets make a point about making facts lie -
this was published about June 30, 2006. If we are to believe the Bureau's number of 497 inmates per 100,000 our population at the time would be almost 452 Million.

X = Prison Population
Y = U.S. Population
Z = Percent of Population in Prison

X / Y = Z

2,245,189 / Y = 0.00497 [497 per 100,000]

2,245,189 = 0.00497 x Z [0.00497z]

Z = 451,748,289

However, The U.S. Census Bureau made this release on October 12, 2006 claiming only 300 Million.

http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/archives/population/007616.html

In reality we come out FAR worse than their stat suggests.

2,245,189 / 300,000,000 = 0.00748 [748 per 100,000]

Yes, we have nearly 1% of our population in prison. That doesn’t include people on probation or parole. That number was a striking 7 million in the U.S. at the end of 2005 according to the Justice Department [via The Washington Post]

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/30/AR2006113000912.html

Let’s take a look at the numbers according to The International Centre for Prison Studies.

http://www.kcl.ac.uk/depsta/rel/icps/worldbrief/highest_to_lowest_rates.php

This study works with populations in prison as of December 2005.

China had 1,548,498 – 2,500,000 depending on what you include as prison. Let’s take the whole ball of wax and say 2.5M. That puts China at 189 per 100,000 people incarcerated.

At that time we had 2,193,798 prisoners. This put us at 737 per 100,000 people. Meaning per capita we have over 4 times more prisoners.

I think it is time we start a little reality based reality in this nation. Pull our heads out of our asses and look around us. This is not the America of our forefathers. This is America in the grasp of an insidious fascist revolution.

Our forefathers saw this as a possible outcome and gave us the means to fight back.

Will we?

Coming soon to a neighborhood near you...

I have posted a link to this blog before. This piece is a candid, raw look at what American tax dollars are buying, what the Bush misadministration is peddling, and what American disinterest is supporting.

What will it take to get some action out of the masses?

Hey America Is It Enough Yet?

When is enough going to be enough? Apparently we won't step up to the plate until it's our ass on it.

So is impeachment "a waste of time" for small cabal in Washington upholding the atrocities done in our name?

How can this be justified to the members of congress opposed to impeachment (most of them)? Does it take them on the waterboard?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20430153/

Men and women like these deserve to be forcibly moved to a nice neighborhood in Falluja - sans weapons, guards, money, food, water, or clothes. What possible punishment could fit their crimes? Certainly none we allow here. Yet we torture those who are part of the solution rather than punish those who are the problem.

America - Lord of the Flies on a really big island.

Free Money!

Well it looks as if Bush has brought the American Dream to reality for some. Namely the contractors, corruptors, and cronies.

The Bush Wars, as I have stated before, are more about redistribution of national wealth than stealing oil, spreading "Democracy", or liberation of oppressed peoples. True Iraq has trillions of $ worth of oil reserves but this isn't going to make hand picked individuals nearly as rich as billions of unwatched dollars flowing freely on the banks of the Euphrates. See the oil requires we build infrastructure, protect it, and sell it - then of course those pesky Iraqis will want some of their money. Further this would most likely fall under some sort of oversight - where as contracting can be literally "money for nothin" with noone watching. Also, Bush would be unable to control who got their filthy hands on the bloody Iraqi oil funds - not so with contracting - these he hand picks. This is a way to empty the U.S. treasury for decades to come and hand it all to a few Bush/Neocon/Republican faithfuls.

Another point this article brings up is - of all the media in the nation isn't it telling that the alternative media are the folks actually discussing the real issues? Rolling Stone, The Colbert Report, John Stewart, blogs, independent websites, etc. Has this nation entirely flipped it's lid? The air waves belong to the nation not the channels. We should take em back if they are not used as intended - and if this is as intended we need to retool the FCC rules. Revoke all of Fox's air wave access and let them "fair and balanced" all they want online or in print. The same goes for all other propaganda organizations. Why is there no standard for facts anymore? Why is there no way to hold T.V. News to a standard based on factual reporting? [I won't even get into why are Americans so fucking stupid to watch this shit and believe it.]

Anyway I digress, here is an article outlining some of the parts of Grand Theft: National Treasury.

Petitions for Censure and Ending the Iraq War

Well, I know that petitions have a fairly negligible effect on the political landscape of today. That said though these are extremely easy and will take a couple minutes with the added bonus that they are actually petitions started by the politicos (so at least a couple want to know). If your interested here are the links to Progressive Patriot Fund's website:

Censure (ya it's not impeachment and it most certainly isn't what they deserve - is there such a punishment available?):

Ending Funding for the Iraq Debacle

http://ga1.org/campaign/iraq0407/

If there is no start how can there be an end? If we keep trying to bring sanity to the foreground we may eventually find that "start" so we can finally end this drive to fascism and the control by the fewer and fewer. I could never have imagined this nation falling so complacently into what it has become so swiftly. Perhaps this will be the greatest test faced yet by this nation and the ideals it used to hold dear. Time will tell as it always does.

Doing the Right Thing? Propaganda continues...

Now I'm not sure if you all know who Oliver North is. Well he has been many things. He illegally sold arms to terrorists (real hostage taking, plane blowing up, Hezbollah linked terrorists). He was implicated in drug dealings. He did his damnedest to overthrow a sovereign government. He gave material funds to the Nicaraguan Contras (themselves a quasi terrorist organization).

Well this scumbag who has somehow evaded a just punishment (that NEVER happens in Washington) now writes to tell us how to do the right thing? Here is a link to his article on townhall (propaganda central).

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/OliverNorth/2007/08/10/doing_the_right_thing?page=full&comments=true

His assertations are ridiculous in the extreme. He doesn't mess around either his very first sentance tells us what we are in for.

"For three years, politicians and pundits have been challenging the president's policy of spreading democracy around the world."

There's objective reporting for ya. It doesn't get better. Funny that a guy who tried to overthrow an elected government himself is now championing Bush's drive for "Democracy". This guy is a Death Squad Democracy proponent...Democracy at the business end of M-16 (and nevermind the reasoning just do it!).

Also, if the MSM is so "Liberal" how does a scumbag like Ollie get a job within it?

Hey Ollie "Do the Right Thing" and admit your crimes against the Nation, turn yourself in, serve your time, and face the music.

The New Preamble of the Constitution

We, the creditors of The Corporate States of the Americas, in order to form a more perfect Corporation, establish Profit, insure Corporate Sustainability, provide for the Consumers Demands, promote the general Economy, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to the CEOs and their Posteriors, do ordain and establish this Incorporation of the The Corporate States of the Americas.

I fear we are undone.

We have allowed far to much to happen behind closed doors, by people who should most likely be Federal detainees rather than Federal employees.

We have allowed private industry to infiltrate our government through appointments. The more these appointments became normal, even praised the more we allowed to infiltrate. Inevitably infiltration unchecked becomes saturation. All that remains after saturation is allowing private industry to outright supplant our government. This is happening now at break neck speed - the pretty shiny term for this... privatization. What cannot be privatized is neutralized - or worse saturated. From the Supreme Court to Election Officials to Presidential Advisors (Cabinet) to the VP himself. Saturated. A conflict of interest to these people means a conflict with THEIR interests.

I fear there is no way to reclaim that which has been stolen, raped, pillaged, destroyed, polluted, or otherwise lost.
Not to say there is NO way but more so that the way will not be followed.

The people of this nation will NEVER reclaim their government without revolution. I have watched as politicos come and go, promising, lying, grandstanding, and worse. None of this has had any impact on the implementation of the fascism in the Americas. Expecting any change in this trend is silly at best. Further, I do not see any sort of revolution fomenting within the populations of this land. [Before I'm labeled as a nutcase, commie, libtard, gun nut, or worse a criminal let me clarify something. Revolution (despite the word being used to describe one of those wars some teacher droned on about when you were growing up) does not always need to be violent.]

Make no mistake a revolution is coming. Though I fear it will be a fascist one, the fascist roots are already entrenched. One in which mercenary armies will enjoy a natural legitimization. Where their use will be widespread and above accountability. Where workforces are further enslaved, rights are non-existant for the masses, ruthless enforcement in the name of security is commonplace, further media control leads to even more engineered infotainment, speech is curtailed, and far far worse - war is constant. Sounds pretty close to what we have now but this is but a taste.

We MUST turn back immediately. We must reign in our government, enforce the rule of law, strengthen the laws, fix the Constitution, reestablish effective control over industry, end the war on drugs, find ways to control immigration, outlaw mercenaries, kill privatization, kill self-regulation, make the new government as transparent as is possible, re-establish our military, establish corporate accountability, remove religion from government, end lobbyism, establish a far stronger state government policy while reducing Federal powers, establish a strong Federal system of referenda, establish accountability in government, balance the budgets, end the Federal Reserve, in short bring sanity to the nation. Daunting task. Are we as American's up to it?

Perhaps, corporate fuedalism will be fully realized in our lifetimes. Or worse yet corporate war lords? Maybe even a form of corporate communism. Don't laugh I could see the implementation of any of these. Corporations are very near communism in their economics and almost identical to fuedal or war lords in absolute power(within their organizations). All seem pretty bleak to me. They are all pretty much shades of each other. Allowing the wealth of an individual to eclipse the wealth of entire segments of the population or corporate economies to dwarf many national economies can lead nowhere healthy for a population of people as a whole.

For far to long individual rights to wealth have been illogical at best - grotesque more honestly. Whereas taxes could be used to curtail these problems this nation does the opposite and taxes everyone but the wealthy get the breaks. Then to further support the wealthy the government enacts insane legislation to basically redistribute the wealth of the nation....upwards. This is achieved through all sorts of lovely scams. Subsidies, contractors, privatization, foreign aid, issuing currency, military and intel budgets, and the list goes on.

Will we become The Corporate States of the Americas? Are we already? Your welcome to post your opinions in the comments section.

Well, enough rant for this morning. Have a good one!
