"Good day Mr. Petri. I am contacting you today on the eve of our July 4th holiday to ask you to remember the constitution. Remember the rule of law - for without it government is nothing more than organized crime. Remember the sacrifices of our armed service members today and through out our history.
You see, the Founding Fathers were fairly advanced politically for their time. They understood the ramifications of the actions they set into motion all those decades ago. They foresaw a future when the government would no longer remember the rule of law. No longer value the sacrifices of patriots. And worst of all, no longer value the rights of the citizens or the basic human rights of man. They foresaw a future when the executive branch would overreach their constitutional boundaries. A future when the constitution itself would come under attack.
To protect the nation, the power of impeachment was bestowed on Congress. The House to indict and the Senate to try.
It is high time sir, the people of the nation demand justice. The rule of law demands justice. The constitution gives YOU the tools to bring justice.
If this nation is to continue as a nation of laws they must not be undermined by the very legislatures that create them, courts that interpret them, or the executives who are meant to enforce them.
There are many issues that must be attended to in very short order. Justice for crimes of the HIGHEST order must be sought. Investigations must be carried out. Followed by impeachments and criminal prosecutions.
We ask not for scapegoats, toothless measures, rhetoric to affect prestige, or partisan antics. We ask for honest, transparent investigations into all of the scope of this administrations actions. That appointees across the spectrum be removed as possible. Lobbyists have NO place in the offices they formerly lobbied. Bush's Supreme Court appointees need scrutiny. Bush, Cheney, Gonzales need to be impeached, tried, and then tried as common criminals - removing ANY and ALL chances of pardons. Justice must be served.
Your constituents, the people I talk to everyday - are constantly talking about impeachment. They wonder why justice is perceived to be "a waste of time" by those same people who make the laws.
Thank you for your time,
B"
