Throughout the entire interview Elizabeth Dole uses bait and switches, outright lies, subject changes and in general, rudeness to control the interview. The host Chris Wallace actually even attempted to rein her in. Now here's the rub. Why does this work? Why can a candidate go on T.V. lie openly about established facts, stubornly obfuscate the discussion, mix fact with fiction, and just be a (to be clean)... downright rude guest? Why do voters still vote for these candidates?
